I invite viewers to experience what cannot be said by exploring human nature, its variety, and the environments and objects in which we live and interact. I strive to connect emotionally with the viewer, thus encouraging further exploration of the painting.
Through energetic, visceral mark making and color application, I let the emotion of the moment dance on the support, while also giving chance and imperfection an opportunity to influence what the painting will ultimately become. Guided by subconscious impulses and moments of reflection, I use color, texture, and gestural marks, often in combination with recycled materials and found objects, to evoke emotions and activate memory.  Emotions and memory collide, mix, and wash in and through the subconscious influencing one’s sense of self, understanding, and desire for change.
